Medici

Medici has been developed at the University of Adelaide by Peter Devitt and Edward Palmer. The Medici program provides a case-based environment, in which students select a patient’s course of management from several options. Still images, video and audio complement the text provided to the students. The video is professionally filmed, scripted, directed and produced specifically for the case scenarios, and is often used to describe the clinical situation realistically. Video and images are used to describe the patient and show the results of investigations such as radiological imaging. Users are provided with a series of options on screen, which they can consider themselves or debate amongst peers when working in a group environment and then select the one(s) deemed most appropriate. Feedback is provided on the options they select and for any other correct choices not selected.
